What’s Included & How Fees Work

Initial estimate – Free

Every device receives a free initial appraisal via email, message or contact form, based on photos, the make, model, and a description of the fault provided by the customer, to assist with assessment and provide an honest repair evaluation.

This includes whether the repair is likely to be practical, cost-effective, and appropriate based on the condition of the device. Some customers choose repair even when replacement may be cheaper, particularly where data, saved files, software, game libraries, or familiarity with the device are important. These preferences are always respected and taken into account when providing advice.

If the device is not considered repairable or not suitable for repair, there is no charge other than return shipping for mailed-in devices. Alternatively, free e-waste recycling is available.

Bench diagnostics – $45 (waived if repair proceeds)

This covers the time spent diagnosing, fault-finding, and testing your device.

If you proceed with the repair, this fee is waived.

The fee may vary slightly depending on fault complexity and any parts used during testing.

A full estimate will be emailed to you, and approval is always required before any additional work is carried out.

Board-level repairs

Includes replacement of items such as:

• USB-C connectors

• HDMI ports

• ribbon connectors

• battery connectors

If additional circuit board damage is found, an updated estimate will be emailed for approval before continuing.

Thermal clean / fan service

Includes:

• full internal cleaning

• fan service

• CPU thermal paste replacement

• battery check / replacement if required

• securing loose internal cables

Any extra services requested may incur additional charges.

Repair process

1. Free appraisal
Every device is first assessed to determine whether it is repairable and economically worthwhile.

2. Bench diagnostics – $45 (waived if repair proceeds)
This includes fault-finding, testing, and evaluation of any underlying issues to confirm the cause of the problem and provide an accurate repair estimate before any further work is carried out.

3. Repair attempt
If the device appears repairable, an initial repair and testing fee may apply to cover diagnostics, labour, and any parts used during the first repair stage. Where only minimal work has been carried out, or the issue proves uneconomical to repair, this fee may be reduced or waived. Any charges will always be discussed with you before proceeding. Prices from $39.00 depending on the complexitity of the repair.

4. Repair completion
Once successfully repaired, you will be invoiced for the original estimate plus any additional approved work, along with shipping and insurance if required.

5. Full transparency
At every stage, you will receive clear updates and pricing information by email or SMS

No repair work beyond the original estimate is ever carried out without your approval.

Pickups and drop-offs are by appointment only, with weekday afternoon availability typically between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Most standard repairs are completed within 3–7 business days, and typically within 7–10 business days depending on fault complexity and parts availability. Some complex repairs or jobs requiring specialist parts may take longer. In these cases, you will be kept informed and provided with updated timeframes as the repair progresses.
